my last week started basically on wednesday

then went to Eli's for couple beers with our friends, it was great!

thursday:
i do not know what i did on that day:)

friday:
four days of craziness started. after work we left Whitney Village and headed south to Virginia. we departured at 7pm and arrived at 3:45am (i drove, i was freaking tired, it was so good to go to bed)

saturday:
we got up at 7:45 and had breakfast and left the motel before 9am, we were driving through the Shenandoah National Park
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shenandoah_National_Park
imagine a 105 mile length road on the ridge, beautiful view, scenery points were everywhere, could not decide where to stop and what to see - so we stopped almost everwhere
it took 3,5 hours to drive through
Hungary vs. Shenandoah

Shenandoah National Park, VA, 2012

the real proof

After finishing visiting Shenandoah, we went to Williamsburg, ate lunch and checked out the whole historical district

look idiot:)
the strategist

i had to change the oil in my car, so we took 1 hour break and got it done at the local Goodyear saloon. then headed back to Hamden, it took 11 hours to arrive home
and i dont have to say that we stopped by the Virginia Beach:)

look at this video - driving through the Brooklyn bridge, NYC at 2am, it is insane!!!

we arrived around 4:00am went to bed (trip lasted 32 hours, drove 23 hours, slept 4 hours, 1 hour spent at the mechanic and 4 more with miscellaneous things - CRAZY!) , got up and went to Jeffrey's bbq party. had fun spent a night there and went to the Rocky Neck beach on the Memorial Day.
look at those juicy burgers and sausages!!! they landed in my stomach, yammyyy!!
 thanks Alley and Jeffrey!

Happy Memorial Day 2012!

05.14 - 05.20 - Birthday Party, Scouts

oh well, yes, i know, well behind of updating my blog
it is interesting when i am not choking under the wave of school and work stuff i immediately become lazy.
after a crazy weekend and monday, i have the time and mood to sit down and write two blogspots

so, once upon a time, two weeks from now...
tuesday: i had to work on tuesday because we had an invitation from the Hungarian ambassador of London, UK on wednesday, after work i went to the Gulash Place (Hungarian restaurant in Danbury) and bought some real homemade style smoked pork hungarian sausage. i asked John Aczel (Janos bacsit) where i could buy some real hungarian bread, he told me his secret bakery where he has bought bread for like 30 years!!
hmm, that bakery is just lovely! when i parked at the place, i felt that special fine, tasty bakery aroma, you that!
i felt like in hungary when i was a little kid, went into the supermarket, grabbed a fresh, crispy, warm bread and bite it in the shop! i could not resist to do it! that kind of feeling was that bakery
so i bought what i wanted and was fully prepared for my first guest speaker invitation

wednesday: after managing my hostel stuff, i was ready for the fancy lunch that we were invited for. every HABL student was there except one and Chris, his wife, His Excellency Mr. Janos Csak, his wife and another hungarian couple. we had a great time. but my only concern with fancy places is that i dont feel full after eating (it is sad i know:), then we visited Nancy Brinker's private hungarian fine art collection at QU, took some pictures and then headed toward Bantam, Litchfield, CT to the boy scout gathering
i got a dinner invitation from one of my boss at photronics, so i went to his place (that part of Litchfield is just  wonderful, green, calm, clean, streams, fish...) had a nice dinner (i was fully! thanks Jay!) and then at 7 we went to the boy scout meeting
i did not know a lot about being a scout, since then i know a little bit more, but i just like their principles, attitude, rules and values (i absolutely share them)
after the intro part, bence the guest speaker started his first public speech in english. i prepared for it, so i made notes which i usually dont, and i figured that the average age would be above 15-16, but it was around 12:) i spoke about why it is worth to study abroad, to travel around, to get to know new cultures and to try out new things. i wrote 10 points and said a short story around each of them, i educated them about girls and  responsible alcohol consumption as well, it was fun! it seemed they liked it. after speaking 20 minutes so many questions were arisen. i was so happy when those questions were related what i talked about and a lot came from the youngest ones, so they listened to me - that kind of experience is just indescribable, it was wonderful
after my speech they served the sausage and bread, it was much more fun - imagine about 30 kids who were running around  in a huge room with a piece of bread and sausage:D:D

Thank you guys! I wanna go back!

thursday:
we went to shop with andras to get ready for our bbq catering

lots of food!
friday:
bbq!!!!!
we had a great time celebrating Andras's and my birthday! we had great food, great weather and great company! Chen and her husband brought us a bottle of real Sake
here are some pix
we were 9 of us, the party lasted until 3:30 in the morning from 6pm, cool!!

saturday:
after cleaning up the dirt of the bbq we got to go the QU to Nance Brinker's hungarian fine art collection opening ceremony
with Andre Farkas (billboard collector, András bácsi) talking about past and future

Nancy G. Brinker (former Hungarian ambassador)
Then we went to have dinner with her and other Hungarians, it was such a great night!

sunday:
we went to rocky neck state park, public beach

that was the last last week
:)

05.07 - 05.13 - second semester ends

As we just got back from the Great Lakes trip on Monday, i popped into my final finance exam. I tried to study at the hotel rooms, but i had lack of motivation, so I studied most during the way back home on my laptop, there were two chapters that i had to cover again. I did, but i still was not very enthusiastic about this exam. I was the last one who arrived (but i was on time), had a little headache and was dehydrated and tired. I just wanted to get this done and forget about it.
So i look at the paper, we had 20 questions. Alright, let's do this. I was the third one who finished it and left the scene. I didnt care about that class any more, just went home and started to work on the next final, which was managing people and organization.
I extended my slides and put the others' parts together, formed it and done, went to bed and crashed. On Tuesday we presented it at 1pm, it went well and I was so glad to finish this class! I liked the topic, but it was just so good feeling to get it done.
I had a final on Wednesday as well in transportation mgmt. Ohhh, ohh, ohh.:D Honestly I was even less motivated to study for this class. So after the managing people exam, I went to fish, caught 3 trouts, released two of them, went home, cooked the third one, ate it and went to the gym at night with Andris. We worked out a little bit, it refreshed me so much and made me pleasantly tired again:D So finally I didnt study at night, just fell asleep. I went to work on Wendesday, studied during the lunch time, after work I went directly to the university. I thought the exam will start at 6:30 but just started at 8:15pm. So i had around 2 hours to study. But it just didnt happen:D I got the paper, looked through, found it OK, filled it out, answered the questions and calculated that I had to calculate and gave it to my professor without double checking my answers. I felt so light myself after this exam. I am done with my first year at MBA!! Yeah!
Once I arrived home, the result of the exam was posted on Blackboard. I got 98/100 on my transportation exam. They released the finance result as well, i did 92/100 on that one. I am even more happy, the grades of other courses are not posted yet.
On Thursday we went out to the Mickey's place, it was free food there! I had to be there!:D That was the beforeparty before the Friday forgetting party.
On Friday, i went to workout a little bit, got my hair-cut, went to fish again, got two nice trouts, we ate them then. Andddd started to forget:D
We tried so hard, and we succeeded:D
It was such a great party in New Haven. We left the place when they closed the Bar at 2:10am.
I had no worries about the semester any more:)

And finally on Saturday I did nothing but cleaned up my room. Look at this mess:D

After the commencement ceremony we went to a nice restaurant to celebrate. OMG, the food was incredible!! Sorry, I didnt take a picture. It was too fancy for taking pictures about my food:D
While we digested in the living room, just decided to go to the beach at 6pm for first time in Connecticut, Hammonasset Beach (http://www.lisrc.uconn.edu/coastalaccess/site.asp?siteid=509)

First time in 2012 I was on the beach at Key West (in March) and now in the Atlantic-ocean, it is not a bad life.
And how was the water??
Like this:

We closed the day with drinking beer in the park of Whitney Village. That is what I call a great day!

More fun is coming soon!
