03.19-03.25 - Photronics

The Florida trip was a little bit overwhelming not just physically but finally as well:D SO we postponed our Pennsylvania trip a week. So this weekend was free. I got the chance to keep up with the school line and to take some rest.
At Photronics I lost my boss. The whole department is missing him. He was a great boss, made his followers loyal, hard-working and motivated. That is kind of a boss i want to be.
On Tuesday i took a test on managing people and organization, it went well and got 100%. (My first 100% grade in the US:) I had to realize, i need to find internship for the fall, so dear reader if you know somebody who is looking for great workforce please let me know. I can work up to 20 hours a week, i could work 60 too, but my visa status doesnt let me to do so. I can commute even to New York, no problem. I am interested in any business field. I know the more the merrier, but i would prefer smaller companies, where i can get more responsibilities and serious projects. The best area would be working at incubators, then export/import field and then supply chain, then marketing (with online focus) and then anything else. I can do many things from cutting grass, to writing any kind of business plans from the beginning to the end, with implementation as well. For me time is a holy thing, as well as my word that i have given to anyone. Why am i writing down these things? Because i need an internship and would like to use the channels i can.
Some thoughts about getting paid employed in the US with a J-1 visa. First it is hard, second it is very hard. Third it is not impossible!! If you think about the competition among fresh college students for internship positions, this is tough. Companies hire interns to test them whether they could employ them permanently. They are willing to invest into those persons. If you are a temporary immigrant none wants to invest into your knowledge. For what? Would you do? Their entire perspective has to be changed when they think about you and at the same time you are competing against permanent american students who the english is their mother language.
Anyhow:D
I bought my fishing license even i am in red right now:D I need some fun alone. I had today. Caught 11 perch. I released them, because they are nursing/breeding, you know what i mean, they are making little fish:D My passion is fishing and my ultimate goal is to have an own fishery. I found so many cool papers about this topic, so if i will have couple free minutes, i dig further deep into it.
I fried the trout i caught last november. Here it is. Tasted great, i noticed that the king of fish is the trout, this is no question at all!
Little milking male perch, first fish in 2012! Good luck for this season for everyone!

My first trout in the US is served with asian side dish - Before!

03.12-03.18 - Florida

Florida, springbreak, palm-trees, crow, Georgia, fun. These are the buzzwords of this week. I'm sorry guys but my google chrome crashed down, so i lost the entire 3 pages draft. I just cannot rewrite it again.
I show you our map, we drove 6000km in 5 days, we passed 10 states and visited 3 national parks as well.
Losing 3 pages draft is just a sh*t feeling...I mean really. So now im gonna upload the pictures and say short stories about them.
In Georgia I got a speed ticket. I passed an oversize load truck and he pushed me, tried to pass me back, it was scary, so i started to speed up. Then i was pulled over. Here are some sentences of the conversation: "Hey guys, my name is Lieutenant xxxx, im taking care of you." After showing my international driving license, he came back and says "Here are the tickets guys, one for you and two for you." "Why?" "Because you dont have valid driving license." "I do have, here it is." "I cannot read that language, and there is no english in it." "Here is the english version." "Oh, i see." "Could you please cancel those two tickets." "No, i have already written those, i could get in trouble. But you can go to court." "We will not be able to go to court, we live in connecticut." "I know, i know, then you have to pay." "But this is valid in connecticut." "I'm here to enforce the georgian law, i cannot do anything with the connecticut law." "When do we have to shift our places." "You can drive further." Holy sh*t! It cost us $607, so now we are trying to figure out how we could judge that i do have a valid licence.
We started our trip on Wednesday at 1:30 3/14/12 after working 20 hours. I slept 4 hours before night, because I had so much things to do. We were not fully prepared in soul for this journey. Just my car stayed at the parking lot of Whintey Village.

New York, Washington Bridge, two levels, 12$ to drive through.
The way we traveled, hungarian picnic.

At Richmond, that was our first stop, we checked out the State Capital, the War Monument, and the civil war bridge, where people escaped from Richmond in 1865.

The bridge

Just a snapshot of our journey.

After passing Orlando (Walt Disney), Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Savannah, we arrived to Naples.

Naples, Conty's Motel

Marco Island, Mexico Gulf. I am trespassing now, and during taking this picture we parked in private property checked by surveillance system. This is the island of retired millionaires. This place was unbelievable. Private properties were everywhere, there were not even free public parking places, but payed parking places at all. The message was: If you dont live here, get lost!

Everglades National Park

Our first gator in the swamp, just walking on a public (free) trail.

We went on air-boat trip to check out the swamp. We saw 7 gators. The experience was breathtaking.

These are strong animals!

On the airboat. It was fast and fun!!!

Tried out the gator tail bites and frog legs at an indigenous restaurant.

Before

After, the gator tail was a little bit chewy, but tasty. Frog legs tasted like chicken, hmm, so delicious.

At the Flamingo Bay, Everglades National Park a little monkey.

This video doesn't need any comments. Just funny!! Everglades btw.

Miami sunrise. We spent two nights in Miami South Beach, we spent just the nights there checking out the nightlife. Why cannot you go to a nightclub:
- because you look like shit
- because you look cheep
- because you wear short
- because your shoulders are not covered
- because you fail on the face control
How you can get there? Go to a horde of girls and promise them drinks in the bar.

On Saturday we spent the whole day in Key West. This is the Key West Fort. Key West is much cooler than the Bahamas. Many Americans rather go to the Bahamas, because it is cheaper. Key West is the end point of the US in south. The way is just wonderful, you travel almost 3 hours on one bridge from island to island. It is crazy.
Key West, on the way, it is beautiful, isn't?!

The ocean or the gulf (it is actually the border of both) is crystal clear.

We enjoyed chasing girls, the sunshine, the sand and the water. Had a great time there.
Good old times.
I had to check out the fishers. There is another bridge for fishing!!! I love that place!

Nightlife traffic jam, Miami
This is another great story. Andris and I walking down the street and passed four people, we just heard this:"CSELLENDZZSERR!". It hit our ears, because it sounded just as we would say in hungarian. Slowed down a little bit and heard this: "Hallod, hallod, csellendzser, nézzed máá, há ilyet otthon öcsém nem látsz! Vájá má, csináljál már egy képet, itt a telóm!! Hallod besz*rsz ez akkora! Jajj fiúk ne csináljátok már, olyan gyerekesek vagytok." Stepped a few ahead and started to laugh our asses out. This is unbelievable! What is the probability to meet with four drunk hungarians in miami downtown?? I would have said before this, there is no, but now it is above 90%! They behaved just like you imagine a hungarian abroad. We walked away without let them know who we are. It was sad, how they behaved, for us it was just untenable...But was funny!! For those who dont speak this world language no need to know what this part is about. This is just an insider joke. Insider for every hungarian.

 #2 Biscayne National Park
Every time i have to go to the water.
 Cool crab!
One of my weekend house will look like this, just with a bigger yacht.
#3 Congaree National Park, we arrived there on Sunday 9:30pm, because the Lonely Planet said that the best time to check out the park is after sunset, because all the animals are moving. So we did. It was a little bit scary. None was there but us.

We went on a trail as well with our lights. We could make a horror movie out there, really! Muhaha!
Sunday night just arrived to Charlotte. Nice city!

After leaving Miami we had to get back to reality.
Here it is:
We were on time during the whole trip. But we didnt let enough buffer time for Connecticut, so we found ourselves in a massive jam. It causes 30 minutes late. But in a 6000km trip, it is OK.:)
Just got out of the car and went to our finance class:
From Miami to school, that is kind of a good student.
The results of the class:)

My biggest trip ever! Thanks Andris, Photronics, HABL and everybody!

03.05-03.11 - Boston

So lets see, what happened to me. Right now i am sitting on my bed and enjoy the freedom of my springbreak. But don't run ahead.
Honestly, i do not know what happened on this week. Oh, i know. So on Tuesday we had a paper due in managing people and organization. So Alex and I sat together and wrote a case about the GE former leader.
On Wednesday we had the midterm in transportation management. It went well (hopefully:)
I worked at Photronics, got really interesting projects again in inventory and in strategy.
Here comes the interesting part.
After work on Friday, i came back, packed my stuff and got ready to go to Boston. I took Ildi and Dan took Evi. We arrived Dan's family's place around 9:45pm. But the way was not that simple. Most of the time i just followed Dan's car wherever he went and whatever how fast. So we speeded on the highway before the border between Connecticut and Massachusetts. And we drove around 89miles where the speedlimit was 65. And before we wanted to go back to the middle line and to slow down a car just arrived from the left. I do not how it came, he blinked to the right so i gave him yield and in the next moment the police-light started to flash like in the movies. HOLLY COW!!!! What is happening, im caught. I started to panic. Benceeee, calm down, do not worry, it will be fine. (Yes, exactly fine (around 200$) in the ass!) I didnt remember what i should do when the policelight is flashing, but for any case i also pulled over, behind the police car. I stopped, the policeman came to me and was shouting. WHAT ARE YA DOIN??? My legs were shaking a little bit (of course just a little bit), i didnt hear it well so pull down my window and he shout: GET LOSSSTTTTT!!!!!
Holy sh*t! OK, gotcha, i move my ass away! And i just realized that you are stupid Bence. You have to pull over just in case of the cop is behind you. So, Dan got a ticket and it made us sad.
At their place we drank beers, ate pizza and started to work on my car. First step was to lift it up. There were two ramps, but they were too steep so Dan had to lift up the header bumper not to hit the ramps. After three beers I said: Bence you gotta focus!! Dont kill Dan with your car! So i drove up carefully on the ramps. We lifted up the back wheels too, so the job was pretty much done for the first day. After a minute we figured that we can chop down the old muffler. Destroying is always better, faster and easier than building or restoring something, so we had fun doing it:D
On Saturday morning Evi and Ildi wanted to go to the city by train, but Evi came up with the idea that we should go to the IHOP. That is another type of franchised fast-food restaurant which is basically a non-stop dinner with lots of pancakes. We had to wait to get a table for like 15 minutes! WTF? I have never had such an experience. We ordered, got food, ate it and done. On the way back we picked up the missing parts to get this muffler changing job done. We worked on my car for 5 hours and at almost 6 we went to Boston. Actually first to Cambridge and we checked out the Harvard square and the Harvard Campus and Charlie's restaurant. I wanted to buy a book at the Harvard book store, but i just couldn't choose what book i wanted to have. So, i didnt buy any books. Fine. You cannot imagine that bookstore. This is just amazing what bookstore can do. This is a goldmine for stupid business students, like me. I could spend there hours and hours. Wow!!
At Charlie's place i tried to eat crabcake with french fries. I could have made a better choice. And i had an impulse order. I didnt want to drink anything but water. I turned left and i saw HOE GARDEN. Holy cow?! What is this? Beer. I must have one! So i ordered it, but it was not the best decision again. :D
Then we went to Boston downtown with train and look around Boston wharf. I just love that city, i have to go back again!!! Such a nice piece of Europe. This is a livable city after the first glimpse. And we found the liberty square where the monument of the Hungarian '56 revolution. Hungarians are everywhere.
We went home around 1am. Today morning we had to set the clock one hour ahead, so we lost one hour. We came back at 11am and Andras and I went up to the Sleeping Giant for hiking. As we came back I prepared for the dinner at Xiao, who is one of our Chinese classmate and served a traditional Chinese dinner for us. And then i came back home, laid down and started to write this blogspot. Tomorrow im gonna work at Photronics, on Tueasday as well and on Wednesday i'll come back at 1pm from work and we leave to Florida at 1:30pm. Everybody says you are gonna have fun there dudes.:D
