04.08 - 04.14 - New Hampshire

I have been asked to refresh my blog since the last update on April 7th. Now it is May 2nd and I am writing three spots in one row.

It is hard to remember what happened.
But I try.

On this weekend we did the New Hampshire

New Hampshire nagyobb térképen való megjelenítése

Traveled: 520 miles
Crew: Kriszti, Aziz, Jing, Andirs, Bence

Apr 13 - Saturday
8:00am – leaving WV

Seashore
·         10:30am - Halibut Point State Park - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halibut_Point_State_Park

Fresh water in front (tested) - salt water in the back

I had to climb down:)

Camera is set...
...picture taken  (it is not horizontal but is it ok)

Halibut point Light tower

Hands up in the air - Going to the shore

Bence and the waves

You cannot imagine how much we enjoyed our time there. We took 150 photos just here:)

I was afraid of being smashed away in any seconds

Realized it is safe (Aziz got the moment when I finally was able to look into the camera)

We went to the Lobster roll restaurant

and had a nice lunch - seafood platter, lobster rolls (2), fishwich and pollock with fries

Wine sampling
·         12:30pm – winery 1
§  Jewell Towne Vineyards • jewelltownevineyards.com

At this place we had to go out to drink our wine because they did not have license to serve alcohol inside.

We had chance to enjoy the vineyard as well

·         3:00pm – winery 2
§  Flag Hill Winery
I liked this design

and this one too

They are much better in sales and marketing than the Hungarian wineries, however, at home we have great wine and much better scenery.

My dream meeting room - direct connection with the distillery

Outside look - nothing crazy

Covered bridges (stopping on the way to the final winery)
·         covered bridge 1
§  Stowell Road (Baboosic Brook)

Evening wine sampling (5:30pm-8pm)
·         5:30pm – winery 3
§  LaBelle Winery
The fanciest winery

Couple million dollar investment...

The bar looked like a library, it was fascinating.

Wine was great too.

Couple things you should know about wine tasting in New England.
1. The climate is just terrible for the grape thus the wine is not good normally.
2. There is no regulation basically what you can sell as wine. They add sugar (unlimited), vanilla, cinnamon, apple juice, cranberry, blueberry, whatever you can imagine.
3. Wine sampling is free. But at fancy places they charge you.
4. There is no (Hungarian like) wine tasting. Nobody tells you how to taste, how to smell, what to look for, how they make, no wine cellars at all. But it is not cold at least:)
5. New Hampshire is very very well known of its wine trail. It is all about marketing. We should learn from them. They are excellent!

8:30pm – lodging + bar night
We were so excited to watch the QU-Yale Frozen Four Final NCAA Championship
But then look:
We are still very proud of our team. It was the best performance ever! Go Bobcats!

Apr 14 - Saturday

Relaxing morning in the country

·         covered bridge 2
§  Nissitissit
Location: 1 Mason Rd Brookline, NH

In the meanwhile under the bridge

·         11:00am – covered bridge 3
§  Ashuelot (Also Known As: Upper Village, Village, Village Station)

Next is coming up now.
